The dimmed spark

It has been a while i have not writing in here. Thanks to partner who got so easy and free in UK has her time on putting some pictures and awesome thoughts. *tabik spring*

Oh yeah. Im watching Pacific Rim 1080p and writing this. There are several scenes that i think ridiculous  like 1) a number of heli can hold a big Jaeger 2) why keeping the sword until you in the life of a fish? (nyawa nyawa ikan lerr. aku tibai je haha)

Well back to the story, ive been browsing my old laptop. Tons of pictures found. Thousand of memories reflected and refreshed.

Generally i found what i lost, the passion.

Guess what, although the gears are the best i could have now, somehow i dont have the urge to take pictures. Keeping some money to buy a wide lens might be just a dream.

Some thoughts are better kept private. Bukan semua benda nak kena share. Save some for yourself ya? Begitu juga dalam FB. You might as well buy a diary and pour everything inside. HEH!

Buat seketika, biarlah malap dulu.

Haha. Yang kanan abang aku punya. Yang kiri aku punya tapi tatau buh mana. :p

an aviator, sunset and reflection

i have been keeping up with purposeless internet browsing reading and writing for the coming finals. i am a professional procrastinator, and currently at the panic phase. ha ha ha. right now, i am at the edge, and feel overwhelmed with numbers of online journal entries that i have to submit before the end of autumn semester. so, in between series of  take 5 that i need, i am going to either update this blog or do some light (non-academic) reading.

Life lately

i felt emotionally drained lately. so i went for a day trip to Cambridge, to unwind. turned out it wasn't really a bad idea after all. the city was beyond amazing and the conversation with random people that i met was really uplifting and inspiring. yes, it felt so good.

British Museum with Fujifilm X100S

I was in London about a month ago and managed to visit the British Museum, Bloomsbury London. It was a very quick visit as I had to catch a train back to Sheffield at St. Pancras station by 2pm. The rain was pouring heavily when I reached there so I didn't take any exterior shot of the museum, given that I had a handful of luggage and shopping bags with me.

The admission is free, it's open daily and it has a cloak room! very convenient for a nomad like me right? Haha. However, if you want to drop in your luggage or coats, you have to pay £1.5 per item. This museum has numbers of great galleries. The main galleries were divided according to geographical areas like Africa, North America, Mexico, Ancient Egypt, Ancient Greece and Rome, while Middle East, Asia and Europe were further divided into several sub galleries.

Having been to The New Acropolis Museum in Athens and The Egyptian Museum in Cairo,  I found out that some collections from those museums were displayed here as well. But it wasn't a turn off point for me to visit this museum. Since I only spent about an hour and a half here for the quick glance, I am definitely will be back again whenever I am in London.

Enough with the boring talk, here are some snapshots that I took with my Fujifilm X100S:

The foyer of the British Museum: The black and white effect was from in-camera filter.

 A display at Mexico gallery

Ancient Egypt Gallery: 'Think I used in-camera portrait filter for this one, if I was not mistaken. If you can't visit the Egyptian Museum, at least come and visit the British Museum.

 Parthenon Galleries

Pediments of Acropolis. Reminds me of my visit to Athens.

No major editing done to any of these photos except horizon alignment and minor cropping. And I added a white border to all of the photos here just because i can. :P

Cheers.

metamorphosis within a fleeting moment

change is the only constant in life.
there are changes that we look forward to, and changes that we dread to happen.

a very personal piece here:

Someone said, time went in blink when we truly enjoy each other’s company. I have to agree. To finally watch those life-changing event that happened to many of my friends, it was a real blessing. They all add up to another colourful year. Everything seems to be fast-paced and full of surprise this year. Now that we are towards the end of 2013, let's take a moment and ponder how we had live our 2013.

. . .

Time does move swiftly right? At time like this, lets put aside whatever our unrest worries maybe and pray that all of us will have a blessed and meaningful life. For a better life. For a brighter and merrier years ahead. And for those who just married or about to, lets pray that they will have a blessed marriage, filled with love and contentment, as any marriage should be. Amen.

not a sheer luck

Friends and strangers always say that I’m lucky to travel so often. I say, it’s not luck. It's.. I don't know how to put it in words.. I believe that it's a phase in my life where I'm destined to follow down the path, in order for me to learn lessons about life, love and loss.

a torn heart

Born and raised in a small town on east coast, I have a heart torn between two loves: bustling cities and open spaces, cities for fast-paced life and open spaces to unwind.
Welcome, to the latter.

cold and damp

It’s cold and damp here in Great Britain, pretty much reminds me of my sweet hometown, Kota Bharu. I vividly remember when I was growing up, it rains non-stop for almost one week in my hometown.  Then we would have a day without rain before it rain again for the entire week the next day. Growing up in a place that is susceptible to flood during monsoon season, I find myself more tolerable to cold weather rather than hot scorching day. I always have soft spot for rain, water and everything that has H20 element in it.  I love the smell of grass after it rained. I love to feel the cool breeze air and am looking forward to travel to London twin city (weather-wise speaking) i.e. Seattle. Well, another obvious reason that draws me to Seattle is her coffee shops! :D

Cheers,

Fadhilah H

PART ONE: Athirah S.: Hobbyist Photog Yang Menyesal Sebab Join Hobi Mahal

Bila nak update entry?
Bila nak bayar hutang geekydruggist?
Cepat update yours. Nanti raya takde readers

Garang betul partner sorang ni.  HA HA
So here is my story. Half of it. Later aku merepek lagi 800 patah perkataan. Mohon bersabar.
Sila baca. Baldi tak disediakan. HAHAHA

-----------------------------------------------------------------------

Helo semua. Good Morning wa Sobahal Khair.
Hari ni turn saya merepek and bercerita on how I started my journey on this bloody expensive hobby. Hahaha! Sumpah saya tak kisah.

Well, where should I start entah. Aku takde plot penceritaan ni. Maka mungkin caca marba. Not me lah opkos. Somebody else! Hahaha!

I used to play with my dad’s camera. He owns a Canon A-1 and few lenses. I remember one of them was Tokina. He was a wedding photographer. And he loved taking our photos whenever we go for a holiday. The camera that he bought wasn’t that expensive, where he got it from Japan on his early working years. And I used to play with his tripod. Buat main doctor doctor kononnya. Baring bawah tripod berangan macam masuk dalam CT Scan. Lame I know -_- but that was the best thing of being a child. Bagi batu pun rasa seronok, aku rasa.

       Kamera Canon Abah

         Kamera Seagull Abah

Dad had a camera bag that looked like a box. Very ‘squarish’ look. It was in brown color and the inside material was in green jed color. It has compartments too. I wasn’t very sure on what he had/done that time. But something had sparked in me since then. Unfortunately, the bag had been thrown away. The outside looks like yang atas and the inside material macam yang bawah. Pepandailah otak ngkorang gabungkan dua ni. Haha!

Aku rasa, zaman yang mula mula aku suka main camera was darjah enam. Camera filem lagi je masa tu. Bawak p lawatan sambil belajar sekolah aku yang letaknya di JB and rombongan mak limah kami destinasinya Langkawi. Punya sayang dan konon-konon appreciate the film, I just took photos in the bus!

You know we had this compilation of rules in a book, which was called as Nizam Makasib and everyone MUST buy one. We had our merit system too. Entah hape-hape. Nasib baik aku survived. Dah lah berhantu sokmo takde air pulak tu. Ok, nanti kalau aku buat blog persendirian, mohon request cerita sekolah asrama aku ni. Boleh aku karang lima kertas kajang! LOL

Walau bagaimanapun, nizam makasib  tak mematahkan semangat aku nak amek gambar. Masa form 3, being a rebellious, bawak jugaklah camera digital 2MP brand apatah started with hurup M. It was the canggih-est sebab masa tu tak ramai pakai camera digital. Haha!
Nanti aku jumpa gambar kawan aku charge henpon dalam dorm dan gambar kitorang reramai kat kelas, aku post.
Masa form 4 pun sama. Just form 5 je aku tak bawak camera sebab masa tu aku pegang jawatan kat sekolah. Junior aku pesan kena pegang amanah baik-baik. So aku ni solehah jugak masa dulu. Ngkorang jangan bimbang. Haha!

Ok zaman kemuncaknya masa matrik UIA PJ. Ye akulah budak proud keluaran UIA.  In fact Fadhilah H was also from UIA. UIA ROXX! (promote free. Walau kami tak diberi donut percuma, kami OK!)

Masa tu babah belikan Canon A460 in blue. Seronok sebab boleh amek gambar merepek repek. Masa tu pulak bangga sebab crush pakai jenis camera yang sama. Tah pape tah. Jadi sedikit sebanyak aku rasa minat amek gambar develop dari kamera kompak ni. Zaman tu fon berkamera pun was so expensive.

End Part Uno

Teaser Part Two

Some of the photos I took in the early years with D60

harap bersambung sebab aku tatau nak merepek apa lepas ni :P :P
